THE CROSS-HATCH RULER TRIANGLE FEATURE

The small cross-hatch ruler has a triangle cut out feature in it and I am asked often what that is used for, and while I attempt to explain, I can tell it just doesn’t make sense.  This video is a quick look at one of the uses of this triangle feature.  I realized as I was working on a quilt where this feature was useful that a quick video would explain it better than I can.  When using a ruler for these small diamond (or square) shapes, with a regular ruler you would have to flip the ruler from side to side a lot.  This triangle piece lets you shift your hand from side to side instead of the ruler which, in turn, saves time.
