Details about Winter Retreat 2021:
It’s that time of year again, time for Winter Retreat!!! This year we will be using the Merry Go Round pattern by American Jane. This pattern requires a 60 degree ruler and if you have participated in our Fanfare block of the month or attended Summer Retreat 2020, the 60 degree diamond ruler by Creative Grids will work great!
The block assembly is very much like the technique we used when we did the Summer Swag quilt at Summer Retreat 2020, strip set sewing, cutting the diamonds and sewing in rows. NO Y-SEAMS are in this top!!! I would rate this somewhere between beginner and intermediate on a skill level.
This year’s retreat will again be held at the Quilt With A Heart retreat center and shop in Priddy, Texas, which, is located in between somewhere and nowhere in the center of Texas!
We are centrally located in this great big state and are approximately 2 hours from anywhere significant in any direction you go, i.e., 2 hours to Austin, Ft.Worth, Waco, San Angelo, Abilene, Fredericksburg, you get the picture!
The cost of the retreat is $175.00. This fee covers the cost of the two night stay, the pattern and meals. The ruler is an additional purchase. If you do not already own a 60 degree ruler, when you pay your deposit you can let me know if you will need one and I will have it available for your purchase when you arrive. The ruler retails for $30.00, but for those attending retreat, it will be $25.00. The pattern requires 3 matching jelly rolls and you will need to bring your jelly rolls with you. I do have jelly rolls in the shop and you can purchase them when you arrive. However, I just can’t guarantee there will be three matching jelly rolls.
I will provide a menu closer to the time of retreat. Bring your own snacks and favorite drinks, coffee and tea will be provided. If you would like to come a day early to get set up, you can come on Thursday afternoon for an additional $35.00 fee.
You will be on your own for the Thursday evening meal and Friday lunch Meal will be provided for Friday evening, Saturday lunch and supper.
We will begin around noon on Friday the 26th and will conclude the weekend at noon on Sunday the 29th. As always, there will be prizes throughout the weekend and we will play the fat quarter game and have show and tell on Saturday evening!!! If you have never been to one of our Winter Retreats, it is truly a treat and a weekend full of fun!!!
