For those of you who are not familiar with the Machine Quilter’s Showcase (MQS), it is a quilt show presented by the International Machine Quilters Association each year in Kansas. It is strictly a machine quilted show and the entries are awarded ribbons based primarily on the quilting style and execution.
I entered a quilt, Ruffled Roses pieced by Mary Clendennen and appliqued by Angela Steiner, both from Marble Falls, and of course, quilted by me! It received a First Place Ribbon in the Traditional Standard Custom division. Upon return of the quilt, it had also received an additional ribbon for piecing. Whoo-hoo!!
This is a tremendous honor for me, since the blue ribbon was awarded primarily for the quilting, I am so excited!!! This quilt has also received other honors at other shows, and you can scroll down and see pictures of the front, but since the quilting is more visible on the back, I am posting an enlarged picture of the center of the back of this quilt so that you can better see the quilting. Since I didn’t make it to Kansas for the show, I don’t have a picture of the quilt with the ribbons, but I do have a picture of the ribbons which are pictured here.
